our Story

Indian Hardwood is a sister concern of The New Timber Traders (NTT), Founded on 5 January 1961, The New Timber Traders (NTT) is one of India’s oldest and most trusted timber enterprises.

The company was established in Kozhikode, Kerala, by Late Shri Damodharan Athadi, a pioneering entrepreneur, together with Mr. A. M. Karappan.

Starting as a modest sawmill, NTT quickly earned recognition for its honesty, quality consciousness, and mastery in wood selection and grading. Over time, it expanded across South India, serving both domestic and international clients.

After the passing of Shri Damodharan Athadi, his son Mr. Jayakumar Athadi continued the legacy with vision and commitment, modernizing the company’s operations while retaining its core values.

Subsequently, Mr. A. M. Karappan withdrew from the partnership, and the company came under the exclusive management of the Athadi family, where it continues to thrive.

Today, with more than six decades of uninterrupted operations, NTT stands as a symbol of heritage, authenticity, and responsibility, blending traditional values with modern trade efficiency.

For over 45 years, NTT has proudly represented India as one of the leading exporters of premium hardwoods and handcrafted wood components.

Our products have been shipped to clients across the United States, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Italy, Japan, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates, earning NTT an international reputation for quality, precision, and integrity.

The superior quality of our wood products—especially Rosewood Guitar Fingerboards, Backs and Sides, Knife Handles, and other custom components—has been highly praised by global importers and manufacturers.

NTT sources its timber through two carefully managed channels:

Government Timber Depots, from which legally auctioned high-grade logs are procured.
Verified Local Suppliers, from whom we purchase select logs only after thorough inspection, grading, and quality evaluation by our expert team.

Every log undergoes rigorous checks for grain, texture, and color before being processed for trade or export.
